Post TDC

OK, Got the remote starter to work. How do I know when it is at TDC.
A friend (on vac this wk) told me to put a piece of paper in the # 1 spark plug and when it "coughs" it out it is at TDC. But it seems that every time I hit the remote starter it coughs it out.

HELP, Thanks,
Pat

why dont you just remove all the spark plugs then trun the engine over by hand when the TDC mark on the blancer line up with the 0 on the timing tab your at TDC.

Put your finger over the hole,#1 and when it pushes you finger off its close. Look at your balancer and bring the motor to tdc 0 on your timing tab and there you have TDC

Mongo, if you don't make sure the valves are closed (my checking for aif being pushed out) you may end up with it being 180 degrees out.
