2wd to 4wd?

If I had a donor 4x4(68 3/4t 4x4) to convert my '72 Longhorn 2wd to a 4x4 would all the crossmembers and mounts be a direct swap? Thanks,I know this is asked quite often.

Re: 2wd to 4wd?

The transfer case crossmember would bolt up,probably have to drill new holes. The positioning of the motor mount crossmember would be different on a 4wd,so holes would have to be drilled.A direct swap, not really but it can be done.Search and you will find several threads about the swap,I think kwmech does this alot, you might want to pm him or ask this in the 4wd section.Personally,Id rather just have the lwb 3/4 ton. They are too long already to use on the trails,I cant imagine using a even longer truck.
