Bench Seat Springs
I am looking for the Side spring for a "71" chevy/gmc bench seat. Can anyone tell me if they know where I can get one? Or if they have a seat available for me to purchase, that has one.
The spring I need is located on the edge of the seat bottom Driver Side. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Valentini |

Re: Bench Seat Springs
I think I may have found them at auveco.com, but you can only browse the catalog, it's for distributors only. Maybe you can find a distributor local to you by the website, but I'm really not sure. Maybe try an upholstery shop. Good luck, please post back your results.

Re: Bench Seat Springs
The same spring was broken in my seat, so I just welded it back together at the break. Seems to be holding up so far.

Re: Bench Seat Springs
Sounds good, anybody around me got a welder that could do this for me for some beer?

Re: Bench Seat Springs
If you go to an upholstery shop they will sell you spring rod by the foot (cheap.) Use your old sring as a guide to bending the rod to it's shape. You'll have to remove your seat to do this so you might want to get a price on letting the shop do it.

Re: Bench Seat Springs
I got some from LMC for my 68, but they aren't the same as the ones that are in the seat. The work, but not as great as I had hoped. Is this the part you're referring to?

Re: Bench Seat Springs
I used one off an old seat I had. Welding would work too.
