Timing
This is probably a stupid question but then again I have been feeling pretty dumb lately. I had the truck running and just needed to adjust the idle down just a hair, but it was running a little rough. So i went to adjust the timing by rotating the distributor a bit and now its all jacked. So how do you complete re-do the timing from the very beginning. From scratch. If there is a link or anything because I need this done for me Barney style. Cause I am

Re: Timing
Loosen the hold down bolt for the dizzy. Hook up your timing light and aim it at the harmonic balancer. You should see the mark on the balancer light up each time it goes around. The mark will line up with a corresponding line on the timing tab. You can adjust the dizzy clockwise/counter-clockwise to get your flashing mark to line up with the correct number of degrees on the tab. When you get it set correctly be sure and tighten your hold-down for the dizzy.
