Starting Slow.......

My truck is in really good shape and I got it for a price that allows me to spend some money on it. It is a 69GMC with a 70 Chevy cab. There are a few things that I have to repair and a few things I would like to replace so I thought I would ask the board for its advice. I do have a another 69 GMC that I can use for parts.

1. I have way to much play in my steering, I have not scoped it out much but one of the members sites mentions just tightening something? can;t remeber what site or what was tightened. Obviously if it is a worn gear than I am replacing but I want to try first.

2. My speedo cable does not work. Everything is tight on the tranny and dash so I will have to try and see where the problem originates. Suggestions? I seen a thread where guys argued between lithium grease and graphite spray.

3. I would like to replace the factory steering wheel with a 6 bolt F-1 style wheel. I have read the adapter requirements at the Grant site as well as many others but I thought I would just ask what adapter would be best to replace the factory wheel with a 6 bolt wheel without putting the wheel on my chest?

That is all for now. Obviously I am just starting. I want to be able to use this truck everyday but the engine was built a little to strong by the PO and it likes gas.
