Installing a 1991 Blazer gas tank, body lift?

Hey guys,

I am putting a 1990 Corvette TPI engine in my 1972 Blazer (4x4) and I have purchased a 1991 Blazer gas tank to put in too. I know I cannot use the stock electric fuel pump from the Blazer because TBI has a much lower fuel pressure than a TPI.

I remember a few guys had done this gas tank swap but as I recall I am going to have to move my rear most cross member back and I thought a 1.5 inch body lift was also recommended. Has anyone done this swap? Any info, or any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,

Rod

You might find some info in my project "Low Buck" Here is a link to the tank section http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...223158&page=15
Hope it helps some!

I started trying to use the same tank you've got when I swapped over to injection myself but ended up going fuel cell, turned out much better IMO.

More money up front going fuel cell but you get a better fit without the headaches and at the same time, the right pump for your TPI too.

A board member by the name of 'Fuel Cell Guy' makes em for our year blazers.

Great guy, he'll even custom build one to your specs.
