Has anybody used this on rust spots before? If so, what did you think about it?

I have only one rust spot in my 66, and thats a nickel size hole on the driver side floor. I'm hoping that this product works, because I have no way to weld anything at my house lol

por 15 works good Iused it on the floor boards of my old 53 wagon. But one word of warning.... use gloves

Well, this truck is my daily driver so my short term plans are just to keep her up and running. Its got a newish (10k miles) 350 small block in it, so my main concern right now is updating the electrical stuff. I'm having a hard enough time with that right now though, so I haven't had much time to think about the long term plans much lol

POR 15 is awesome! Goes on super thin, a little covers a huge area, but DEFINATELY wear gloves unless you want black hands for a week. Just be sure to follow their instructions to the letter and it will not come off what you put it on. I used it to coat my rear frame clip and firewall so far.

if you can spray it do it it comes out so much nicer esp if its something people will look at but then again spraying takkes half the time brushing it on does

I've used at least 2gallons of por-15 for multiple projects. It's the bomb for backyard restorations. It's the next best thing to powder coating. I will post some pictures in about a week of my 1964 fram-off POR-15 use. Here's some advice from my experience. If all you want to do is stop the rust sand as much rust off as possible 1rst. then use metal ready brushed on top and bottom. once it dries brush por 15 on top and bottom. Brush streaks smooth out by themself. If you want it half nice , continue w/ bondo, sanding then spraypaint. wear glove this stuff is strong and no joke! PAY SOMEONE cut and weld that spot then grind yourself, then do the por-15 steps for proper results! por 15 pics. all the black you see is por-15. frame susp, tranny etc.. good stuff. this is about 6 months after por15.

I've used POR15 and a rattle can product called Hammerite. Lowes used to handle it, but around here it's pretty much a specialty paint store item now days. I like the Hammeriite. Back in 1985 our area was flooded. About 8 to 10 years ago I was fishing on a creek and found two old metal lawn chairs that had been on the bank since the 85 flood. They were solid rust. You couldn't even tell what color they used to be. I pressure cleaned them, no wire brush or sanding. Sprayed them with Hammerite, put them on my porch, and they're still rust free. You can spray Hammerite right on rust, and when you do, you can actually see a chemical reaction starting. They say in their literature that it turns rust to carbon.
