Friend just got his first ol chevy pickup
Friend of mine just scored a straight old 69 c-20 for the price of a beat up little 89 integra. Its got a healthy 307 in it, with Edelbrock intake, valve covers, 4 barrel, and air cleaner. Its a big yellow beast too, got straight duals comin out the back and it sounds really mean.
My truck is still sitting in the driveway, I think that I may just try to find a sb for it, to replace the 292. It currently doesnt want to run no matter what i do, and I think its just about time for a rebuild. Needs a clutch anyways. Will I6 mounts work with a sb?

I believe they do. The only problem would be firewall clearance issues as the I6 mounts sit far back.

Re: Friend just got his first ol chevy pickup
The passenger side engine mount tower for 292 is different from all the rest we know and love. The mounts are same for 230, 250, 283, 327, 350 ... both sides. So for your swap you just need to find a passenger side mount tower from one of these others. Your chassis should already be drilled for it, so it is just a bolt up affair. Your driver side mount is the same. |
