Stereo's
I'm not sure where all you can put speakers in these trucks, but mine is my daily driver and it's killing me to not have any music, where all have ya'll put speakers in your trucks and also with the head unit do they make a radio that looks stock but has a Ipod hook up?

For the stereo -
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=236543 And for the speakers... You have the under the dash speaker in the center (various types made that one now). And the kick panels are a very popular option. Under the seat is a another option. I have under the seat 6x9's Infinity Kappa 693.7i's and Kick panel Infinity Reference 6022i's - love them. DLB |

Re: Stereo's
the previous owner of my 72 GMC cut speaker holes in my b-pillars for some 5 1/2" speakers. They work well there, but man they did a hack job cutting the holes.
On my 68 that I'm restoring I'm going to make a panel that goes in each corner of the cab and put speakers in them. Of course, no gas tank back there. |

Re: Stereo's
I have a pair of 5 1/4" components in my kickpanels, a pair of 6 1/2" coaxials behind the seats, a 10" subwoofer behind the seats, and an amplifier under each bucket seat to power everything!!! You can put a stereo system almost anywhere you want.

Really - that's not a bad price. I didn't think you would find one that cheap. BTW - I have an amp under the seat as well - you can cram a lot of stuff under there. DLB |

Re: Stereo's
I happen to know you can put 6.5's in the rear cab corners & a couple of 10" subs behind the seat if you don't have the gas tank back there anymore, then 5 1/4's in each kick panel & a big amp under one seat & a 10 disk changer under the other seat & of course a nice head unit of your choice, & you can give passengers a back rub to the beat of their favorite tune

Re: Stereo's
Frizzle Fry nice work on the radio by the way, Smoky02 you can leave the stock deck in for look and plug your ipod directly into your amp and run speakers out of the amp, if you want a radio buy and fm transmitter for your ipod plus you keep your stock deck and the theives will have no idea, its also a lot easyier to unplug your ipod when truck is parked and will never get stolen. This is very popular in rock crawlers because most dont have doors roofs, etc. so it works out well on the trail, Its great store all of your music on something that fits in your hand unplug it and take it with you

Re: Stereo's
you could also install a head unit in the glovebox, almost all new one's have a remote to operate it. Radio Shack sells plastic mount boxes that can bolt anywhere (under dash, on floor hump, in glovebox and you don't have to cut the dash.
