4 Wd To 2wd In 3 Weekends
This Is The 1st 69-72 Blazer I Have Ever Owned And A 2wd Is Impossible To Find @ A Reasonalbe Price So I Bought A 4wd In Good Shape And Converted Over. The Only Thing I Did Was Suspension Work And Change Engine To A Later Model 5.3 Litre The Rest Of The Blazer Was In Great Shape. My Dad And I Worked On This For 3 Weekends And Got The Suspension Like We Liked It. Lots Of People Thought We Were Crazy Doing That To A 4wd But To Each His Own.

I built a triangulated 4 link for the rear and built bag brackets for it. I used the front factory spring mounts for 2 of the 4 links and put the bag brackets on it. It is square tubing.

 What size wheels and tires are those? How big of a notch in the back? It's hard to tell but is the front x-member sectioned? Sorry for all the questions.

The back wheels are 20x10 and the front are 20x8.5. The rear tires are 265-50r20 and the front tires are 255-45r20. I did section the front crossmember 2" and the rear notch is 10". I just put the 67-68 front fender on it to check the stance. The 72 front clip is already painted and ready to be put on.

This is why I have been scolding you guys cutting up factory 2wd!!! His 4X4 looks great and with the bags and 4-link no one will ever know. If you just static then no sweat use the 2wd, but if you plan to go full fabbed rear, why not just use a 4X4 and leave the 2wd out there for the rest of us. BTW excellent work and thanks for helping to prove a convert is just as nice as a hacked up original 2wd.
