Repro Cheyenne seat cover ??

I have been searching hi and lo for a new seat cover for my truck and was wondering if any of you guys have ever encountered one like this --- i have seen the plain ones, but i cannot find one with the little wood grain buttons like this ----- if i cant find one, can the buttons be recycled and re-used on another cover?

I know - the tweed door panels with embossed 75 and bowtie logo are gay, but thankfully are much easier to rectify

i donr see the stuff our talking about in the seat. but i think it the same as my chevelle (the design anyway). as for who would have it id say ask any company you call when i got the seat cover for my chevelle i asked for vinal and it came with the design. it might just be stock and its just not mentioned.

Re: Repro Cheyenne seat cover ??

I'm not positive on our truck seats, but I restored a 70 Chevelle SS and had to remove the chrome inserts and re-install them in the right locations. It worked very well, measure twice and insert once. I don't think you'll find a reproduction seat cover that includes those. Unfortunately you won't be able to tell without removing the old seat cover first, and then be very gentle with the clips on the back of the chrome inserts.

Re: Repro Cheyenne seat cover ??

Thats what i was afraid of ----- my truck is not a concours restoration or anything like that --- but i think the little buttons on the seat give it a 70's flair. I think i will let an interior pro do this - it is above my skill and patience level. Truth is, i would prefer a cloth seat cover because i currently dont have ac, but i dont know if i could coordinate my little 70's disco trim buttons in with that or not

I'm not sure what those came from, but they aren't from a GM truck.

You may be right, but the trucks been accounted for since 1980 with no changes.(other than the 1989 ish tweed embossed doors and a cowl hood) Who knows - maybe an aftermarket seat cover from the late 70's - - someone could have conceivably damaged the original seat when it was new and re-covered it i guess

Re: Repro Cheyenne seat cover ??

How about the cover on the seat back shown here? I know it's not a great pic but I will tell you before you ask...it's not the houndstooth design. I kinda like it but so far have not seen one exactly like it.
