'87 chevy fullsize van for parts

I can buy an '87 van pretty cheap. It's low milage with 350 and 700R4. just wondering if anyone has used the front & rear suspension from a van for 67-72 truck? How well does a van frame match up to a '67 short box body? Besides eng & trans, are there any other worth while parts? Thanks.
