seat belt retactors????
Can anyone fix retractors that pull out but dont recoil back in the boot?

is the retractor mounted to something solid?you can even get by w/ holding the retractor between your feet and giving a quick jerk.i had the same prob. w/mine but come to find out the retractor had to be firmly held(or mounted)and gave a sharp hard yank would release the locking mechanism.

I have been able to fix most of them. Usually it is the spring mechanism binding. You can take it apart and clean it, rewind the spring, and lube with a light lube, (I use Aero Kroil). Sometimes you need to work it a little bit and make sure that the plastic sleeve is not binding on the belt.
