New glove latch W/O keys? Where to buy?
Does anyone know where to get a new NON-LOCKING glove box latch? All I can find are the ones with a key.

Not sure. But,I know they are identicle to 55-57 buttons and probably alot of others in between.I put a`69 truck one in a`55 car I had.The old ones didn`t lock.I bet a Tri-5 vendor has something.

I don't think you can buy it without the key. I used to sell some w/o the key to a local vendor several years back.

Bob, I don't have a new one but I have a show quality used one. Works smooth also. Do you need the retainer too? Sorry for the bad pic but it's almost impossible to get a good picture of something with this much shine unless you are out in the sunlight. The reflection in the button is the lamp I had it setting under to take the picture. If you are interested PM me. LockDoc

That looks great Leon! I sent you a PM, but forgot to mention that I don't need the retainer.

Interesting. I want one with a key and all I can find are the non-locking ones.

Re: New glove latch W/O keys? Where to buy?
That non-locking style is pretty universal over a large span of years. The glove box and both underseat bin doors on my 51 Willys use that exact same button. I got a set of door and glove box locks off ebay and installed them on my Blazer - that's when I noticed the similarity with the old Jeep. You could probably find new (repops) for the willys, if you can't find them for the truck.

Brad - Here ya go. They are a little fuzzy, but it is brand new. It's been out of the bag long enough to get the hole fit in my door.
