Need a '63-'66 1/2 ton lower ball joint measurement
Sorry for the cross post but no one in the suspension forum has answered so I thought the 60-66 crew might have an answer.
Went to NAPA to look at a lower ball joint so I could get a measurement and they did not have it in stock, so no luck. I am hoping someone might have one laying around to measure. I need the outside diameter of the mounting area, where it presses into the A arm. I did this on a '96 ball joint and got 2.307" in diameter. This was done with a digital caliper. I need an accurate measurement of a 1/2 ton one to prove or disprove a thought I have. Thanks in advance guys. |

OK, the lower ball joint diameter is 1.975 inches, measured at the mounting area, ball joint tapers toward the top of the mount to aid in pressing it in I assume. Let me know if this is what you needed, or if you need another dimension.
