Re: what do you have planned for winter 07 spring 08 to do to your truck ?

If all goes well my 70cst will be in the body shop for a 100% resto. After 37 years this will be her first fixin up including having the 402 rebuilt, suspension lowered and gone through, new interior, paint, brakes, tranny, etc. It has taken me six years to get to this place. It will be a DD and not a trailer queen.

Re: what do you have planned for winter 07 spring 08 to do to your truck ?

I plan on finishing the rest of the bodywork and painting my 67 C-30. I recently finished shortening the frame, mounting the bed and new rearend, and fabricating the rear dually flares using stepside fenders. I am painting the truck black, and I have always planned on using chrome the grill accents and bumpers, but your '67 has got my me kinda wanting to paint my grill inserts, bumpers and dually rims white. That is a great looking truck, and is a welcomed change of pace in the age we live in!! Here's a few pics of the beast so far. I don't have any pics of it with the outside wheels mounted yet, so it still kind looks funky!

Re: what do you have planned for winter 07 spring 08 to do to your truck ?

1 Work in the interior, bezel, dash pad, etc..
2 Fix oil leak, and replace valve stem seals. (thats not fun stuff , doesn't make it prettier, shinier)
3 Front end stuff, ball joints, whatever else it needs.
4 Try to drive it when I can

Re: what do you have planned for winter 07 spring 08 to do to your truck ?

Everything...
My pan is to have this on the road by late-Winter/Early-Summer '08...
all I really need is good used black interior stuff, i.e... Seat, visors, dash pad, carpet, etc... I already have everything else for it or planned on buying new anyway

get the back half of the truck put back together (down to the frame), tear apart the front suspension after that's done.

I plan to be done with the frame and bed swap and interior resto and just drive and enjoy it, and do small upgrades rather than huge repairs.

Re: what do you have planned for winter 07 spring 08 to do to your truck ?

Weld up holes in doors from PO mirrors
Patch Dash holes
Prep inside for paint

If I can accomplish those 3 things, I will be golden..

Same around here. We may get 1/2" of snow once every 2 or 3 years and EVERYONE FREAKS OUT

Back when I lived in NY I used to have to park the truck from about October to about April. As soon as that first snow fell I swapped trucks for my old 86 yota beater I used to have....

I get the biggest kick out of driving it in the "winter"

Re: what do you have planned for winter 07 spring 08 to do to your truck ?

I'm gonna install a Dana 60 front axle in my 69 K20 and I would also like to make a modification to how the BBC is sitting so I can reduce my body lift a bit.

No projects planned at the moment for my 70 K5.
