Front Leaf springs question

Some guy came and looked at my truck today b/c he has a similar one and wanted to know why my front end sat so high.
He said his leaf springs go under the front axle, my leaf springs sit above the front axle.

Which one is how its supposed to be.

I included a pic of the front of mine (i tries to adjust the settings so you could see the leaf springs and stuff)

Re: Front Leaf springs question

Nope, they go over the front axle...Tell him the reason it sits high is because of these high tech new fangled things called "lift kits"

Re: Front Leaf springs question

Nice lol, I must just have beefier springs on mine then.

I went and looked at his and his is a 3/4 ton (mine is a 1/2 ton) and it sits low with the leaf springs under the front axle.

The guys's truck is real clean besides the fact it doesnt have a box on it. Its a 69 GMC, the cabs already had all the body work done to it, it looks like new fenders,(no rust anywhere) and it has a 305 V6, standard shft 4x4 w/ locking hubs. It runs great.

He only wants 1500 for it, I wish I could save it from this guy, hes using it as a lot truck planning on beating the hell out of it. He already bent some of the rear frame crossmembers pulling logs with it. I just want it for the can and front fenders.

Re: Front Leaf springs question

I don`t think his leafs go under the axles. His springs are prolly stock and settled. They came negative arched originally.

Re: Front Leaf springs question

Either that or sombody swapped in a full size Jeep axle. They are axle over spring...
