stock fuse panel
Unfortunately time has put some wear on the white lettering on my fuse panel. Can any please break it down what it says? I would like fuse amp ratings for each slot and what its for.
the lowest slot only has one fuse holder. the holder on the right is missing. I wonder if this is causing any of my problems. i pulled out EVERY fuse one at a time and my volt gauge still stood in the middle. |

Chad... Thats awesome! Thanks so much. I notice your lowest fuse prong is missing as well. Why does it only have prongs on the left? Thats how mine is also.
Would gauges be ok to hook up to one of the two available connectors on the right? Also, what kind of fuse is the "tail" one? |

I think that prong is just missing/broken. That fuse you are refering to is called a "circuit breaker".

The missing spot you have is for the optional spot light, which is obviously not installed since you don't have the contacts to the right. You can hook a gauge up to the right hand contacts since they are "fused" and should be turned on/off by the ignition switch. Your AMP gauge is not fused and most people's consensus is that the old style amp gages are unsafe since you basically have to run the "main" power for the whole truck thru the gauge and they are prone to burn up and can cause a fire . If yours is not working, it was probably wired around to eliminate it. I would get an aftermarket volt gage to monitor the alternator since they are much safer !

The circuit breaker controls the tail lights? in which way? stopping, blinking, parking lights?

the circuit breaker doesnt control anything really, its just another type of "fuse". It will pop if there is a short in the lines and too much power is drawn, just like in any household breaker. The tail lights are all controlled byt eh turn signal switch, brake light switch, and flasher...

Guys,
Here is the panel in my 60 shortbox. Does anybody know what the three fues go to? The only thing that doesn't work is the heater motor. Any help would be appreciated. |

Looks like the 2nd fuse from the top is the heater, at least it is on mine,...did you check the fuse with an ohm meter? that would be the easiest thing....if the fuse is good, ohm out your heater motor.....they are only like 25 buck if it is bad.....
