value of a bb 402 with 400 tranny ?

i am looking at a truck that i will part out if i get it and need some info. how much is a good running 402 don't smoke with power steering ,pulleys , oil pan to air cleaner . 72 only bb eng. towers 400 trans. that shifts good with the bb auto. trans. linkage. what would all this be worth to someone that wanted to go bb they would have all the parts they need off of the same truck? the exhaust mainifolds would be included also everything to change to bb.

Re: value of a bb 402 with 400 tranny ?

I paid $500 for one and got $100 bucks for the exhaust manifolds, $100 for the engine towers, $100 for the Power Steering and another $75 for the alternator brackets.
And that was before the Airconditioning or anything else

Re: value of a bb 402 with 400 tranny ?

$500? Not here....you'd get well over $1000. Check the block numbers and see what version of the 402 that is...some are very valuable.

I sold a 396 block, crank and intake for $450 on Ebay a couple of years ago and those parts aren't losing any value.

Wish I had the cash and a pallet...I'd love to have a BB for my 67.....

Re: value of a bb 402 with 400 tranny ?

i was thinking $1000.00 to $1100.00 or better for the eng. trans. and all the stuff needed for the change out. but right now it don't look like it's going to happen.

"Hear it run" sales can double your money, that`s for sure.I`d pay more if I could run it and check compression, etc.

Re: value of a bb 402 with 400 tranny ?

is the gas card included? naww the last 72 i had was a stock 396 with 3.73 4 speed and i got 13 to 14 mpg, man i loved that motor, id much rather buy a bone stock greasy as heck looking motor that someone hasnt tore apart and put who knows what into it to (better) it, than a big shiny motor on a engine stand/ without any brackets or pulleys anyday, far as the price? havent a clue, but if its not someone willng to travel to your area to pick it up, it may have to be cheaper.

Re: value of a bb 402 with 400 tranny ?

Billsbowtie,I would love to have it, and am close enough to come get it. But I would need it to be in the $500 neighborhood to make it happen. I just need the engine and accessories, not the mounts or the trans. I just got a 71 'Burb that is an original 396 truck, but has a small block in it now. I would love to put a BB back in it...
