I am currently redoing the front end of my 69 1/2 ton and was wondering if any of you guys have installed a steering stabilizer? Do they improve the steering? Any pics of the setup would be helpfull...thanks....rick

Re: Steering stablilizer
Is your truck driving like a tractor in high gear going across a field full of badger holes? I've seen the stabilizers on 4 wheel drive trucks, but not on 2wd. Do you have power steering?

Re: Steering stablilizer
My GMC was a beast to drive with manual steering and brakes, the 16 inch stock wheels and bias ply tires and I considered a stabilizer, but when I went to 15's and converted to power all was good.

Re: Steering stablilizer
I had put one in my truck before I switched it to Power steering. My truck is 2wd, but after bumping a curb and having the wheel spin so fast that it nearly took off my hand, was time to put a stabilizer in. When I put the PS unit in it I took the stabilizer out, for no real reason other than to clean up the front...
But I don't know why you would really want on in a 2wd. it shouldn't affect the steering, if your ball joints and pitman/idler arm are bent or worn out, then even with a stabilizer you'll still have sloppy steering....
