A 71 C10 that was customized in 1971! Check it out!

Well, As some of you guys know I've been hunting for a certain magazine ad for quite some time (shameless plug http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...light=magazine ). In my search I've run up on quite a few interesting ads, photos and general nonsense. I thought that this was to good not to share.

I hope you guys found that an interesting read, I know I did!

Wow, a classic look back at what it meant to go retro.

Dig that sexy hidden 8-track mod. That's trick, man!

I like the hitch. Liked to know how the tag slides to the side.

The front and rear tubular bumpers are old school nerf bars. I had a set of '67 VW years ago!

Re: A 71 C10 that was customized in 1971! Check it out!

Oh yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about! Where this truck has red at the front of the hood, I'm just gonna have yellow and fade to orange, then to red. The flared wheel wells? You know that ain't gonna happen. The subtle lowering they did was cool in '72, but no where near right for today's world of truckin'. I don't have a console, so the 8-track tape player is out of the question. The only 8-track player I have now is 110v and also records, but still ain't gonna happen. I like the wheels and did back then. But the G-60's are hard to come by, now. The nerf bars out back are not my cup of tea, and they weren't then. As for the missing side pipes, the style they were emulating was from '58. Side pipes in '58 were called Lakes pipes, and would not have been cool in '72. The Thrush type of side pipes were popular on cars, not trucks, as I recall....could be wrong, but you can bet that had they been the hot ticket item, they would have been on the truck. Witness the flared fenders.....that was the hot item back then.

I'm glad times have changed.

Thanks for posting this article.

I just noticed the lowered side dual slit side markers. I didn't see those the first I looked at it.

They thought our stock sport mirrors were "ugly"-LOL.
The frenched side markers look good.
Notice the dog dish hubcaps on what appears to be a Cheyenne with upper/lower trim with the TG band?
