Radio Woodgrain Bezel?

i was looking in the '69 K20 today, and decided to pull the AM radio. why? i dunno. but regardless.

what i thought was just a little piece of wood paneling, turned out to be a stamped piece of sheet metal with wood grain on the front.

i didn't get a chance to take a pic, but, any idea why it would've came with this?

the truck is far from highly optioned. so, maybe dealer installed?

i'll try to get a pic sometime in the next few days.
