Yeah, I talk to mine, Buck. Coax, rather. Right now it's usually something like, "Come on, ol' girl, I KNOW you can shift into second gear, you REALLY don't want to go to work at 12 mph, do you?? Just tighten up that linkage ONCE more, for old times sake, and I SWEAR I'll buy you a new tranny, TOMORROW, scout's honor!"

Yep i talk to mine, but it's a boy. I always had trucks and they always did rough work and played hard so they were always guys. Never had a car, and i've always considered them more feminine. Mine is The Beast (or Da Beyst on the license plate). everyone i ever met said "Man that thing's a beast" so that was the name it got.

My new Duramax is named "Allison" because of her transmission. My wife named her Nissan Maxima "Max" and the 71 we affectionatley call her "Little Red" or my four year old calls her "The Hot Rod" We have given names to almost all of our vehicles. My old boss has a white van that we named of course "Vanna White"

my parts truck is named old ed cause the guy who we got it from was named ed. my 69 is named the Bone Crusher. it's a funny name but it is accually named after this really cool chevelle that a guy had when I was little. I liked it so that's what I called it. my grandpa had a 72 international that he called old henry. I've got an 88 s-10 that we call old blue and parts from a 67 of grandpa's that was called ol red. and I talk to them all the time to.

My S10, may it rot in salvage yard purgatory, was, uhh, well I can't say on a family board.
My C20 is "The Old Man". Sure creaks and groans like it. And like the stereotypical old man on the porch with the shotgun, if you cross him, he will try to kill you. But that's another funny (read: sheer idiocy on my part) story. I'm kinda stuck with the International. It's a lot bigger than my truck, pulls harder off the line, hauled kids to school for 10-15 yrs in MI, and yet it's two years younger than my truck. So I can't really call him "Old Man the Younger" or "Beast Jr." For know I guess I'll stick with "The Cool Bus" (mainly because the previous owner painted that on the back). ------------------ 67 C20 '78 400sb 0.030" over, 9:1 cr, CC Xtreme 4x4 254H, port-matched '69 882 heads & stock cast iron intake, rebuilt Q-jet, Summit headers (1 5/8" primaries), true dual 2 1/2" glasspacked exhaust, NP435CR trans, 4.57 Eaton rear end. It's a decent-looking work truck. No top-end, but it's great off the line. '69 International Loadstar 1700 school bus converted to an RV. Working p/s (only took three years and three owners to replace the belt & a pressure line), low-compression 345 (176 certified net hp @ 3800rpm), single 3" exhaust w/custom cherry bomb muffler, NP435 trans, two-speed Eaton rear end, very warm & rodent-free heaters.

My truck's name is Ochre, since it is Ochre in color. The name just kinda fell on it, since i called it "my ochre truck", and ochre was shorter, lol.
