exhaust tips?
hey all.
i ran the pipes off my 307 out the sides, in front of the rear tires. since they were long, i tried to cut them off flush with the bed. the key word is "tried"...the angle of my cut off was all wrong and it turned out really bad. so. here lies the question. are exhaust tips on the side exits going to look terrible? if not, what size should i try to look for? it has 2 inch pipe right now, so i don't want to go into the extremes of 3" or anything. thanks for your input! -Sam.

Re: exhaust tips?
Mine are 3-inches in diameter. When the tailpipes were laid out, my muffler guy used the tips I wanted and got the angles right. They exit in front of the rear tires. I'll include a picture that may show you what I mean. If you save a copy of the picture and look right in front of the tire, you will see the tip. It isn't clean because I was taking it to the body shop.

Re: exhaust tips?
I picked up a couple of angled chrome ones from NAPA on a whim one time, and slipped them on. Mine go straight out the back. Nothing looks worse than a hack job, so cover it up with something...

Re: exhaust tips?
I'd go to advance or Auto Zone and get some 2" - 2 1/4" angle cut tips and put on there if I were you. That would better than a hack job as COBALT said!

Re: exhaust tips?
I have 3 1/2" tips coming out before the rear wheels. I used an exhaust hanger and bent it until i got the right angle, then i ran flexpipe up to my mufflers to hook them up.
They look good and sound great, the big tips and Thrush turbos give it more of an old school sound. But, I was thinking of routing the pipes straight out the back instead, I'm still undecided. |
