Speed warning face plate screws !!
Ok I have several speed warning clusters that I have been working on for my truck and a buddy's. I had one that did not have the correct screws in it, as most of you know that fool with these know that they take a non conductive plastic or (nylon) screw in the face plate. I found the size to be a 4-48x3/8", good luck finding this size anywhere. I searched google, ask and all of the nut and bolt co.'s in the country and did not find a pan head nylon 4-48 x 3/8" So this is my solution to the problem. I ordered some 4-40 x 3/8" in a natural color, I then took them and run them through a 4-48 die, and they screwed in perfectly. The next step was to color them black so I called the co. that I bought them from and the told me I could die the nylon. I went and bought the black dye boiled it and dyed them and let them soak for about two days. Problem solved, I will try and post some pics. I have some extra if anyone needs some but this is not a f/s add, I just wanted to let you all know that there is a solution to this problem.
