Corvette Chassis?
I have a rolling chassis plus some of the body still there lol. I wanted to find out if anyone has seen or read about using the entire corvette chassis under there 1955 - 1959 Chevy / GMC truck? I understand there would be some modifications needed if it has been done. I just need to find info on it. I'm not even sure if an 87' Corvette is a unibody or not. I hope this is not a stupid question.

Re: Corvette Chassis?
You can use the corvette componets with flat out engineering's crossmember and rear brackets. Checkout their web site http://www.seattlestreetrods.com/flatoutengineering.htm

Re: Corvette Chassis?
Good call out that. I've been looking at that option but was just wondering if using a modified corvette chassis would be possible.

Re: Corvette Chassis?
Thanks that is a great reference. It looks like my idea may have a little traction now.

Utilizing the entire chassis could be a challenge (lengthening the wheelbase, making cab/bed mounts, etc), but removing the 'Vette front and rear suspensions and grafting them to the stock truck frame works awesome. Looks trick, too. |
