Measuring tail shaft
Have a 72 camper special with a Th400, excuse my ignorance but how do I measure the tail shaft. Have been told could be 6" or 9". Where do I measure from and to. Thanks

Re: Measuring tail shaft
The tailshaft is the short aluminum casting that is bolted onto the rear of the transmission. In my experience, the most common tailshaft is the 6" since I have never seen a 9" one on a TH 400.

Re: Measuring tail shaft
Thanks Longhornman, It is quite basic actually besides the fancier door panels and headliner. I have an 11.5 ft camper so it sure works for that. Always liked these trucks and i think I got it for a real good price.
