Lowering springs for C/10 & C/20????

I want to lower my 1970 C20 about 3 inces in the front with springs...I was wondering if I can use lowering springs for a C10 in my C20? Will they fit and if so will it sofen up the ride a little? Also I want to install a flip kit for the rear and was wondering if a flip kit for 73 and up trucks would work? Thanks

I'm asuming you have leaf springs out back?
Flag down crazy longhorn or PM him...I think he did this before ripping out his 3/4 ton stuff.

The rear drop on my longhorn was done at the same time that the suspension was changed to 1/2ton parts. I have tossed the helper leaf, & 3 bottom leafs. The 12 bolt axle was then set up with direct connection spring pads, & flipped over the spring. U bolts & brackets are a 67 ford truck item. After the flip, the axle set too low, & the spring perches were moved down on the frame 1 1/4" to raise the truck back up a bit. The rear hangers have an added 3x3x 3/16 angle bracket to keep them from flexing,& a set of slapper bars were added to control wheel hop. I have roughly a 5" drop at the rear, no C notch,& 2 3/4" clearance tween the axle & frame. I have never bottomed the axle on the frame, but for hauling, you will be very limited. On front, you can run a 3 " drop spring, but most guys will tend to agree that a 2" spring is about max if you want to keep front geometry as it should be. My truck was done several years ago, when there just werent any bolt on pcs available......not even springs. The fronts were a new set (lightest available),& have 1 full ring cut off. along with the shorter springs, I have trimmed the bump stops on the lower a arms,& use a traction bar "snubber"for bump stops on both the upper & lower arms. i have also fabbed brackets to relocate the top end of the shocks, & run stock lenght Monroe gas shocks. You can opt for shorter shocks, or Turner Enterprises sells a shock relocator for the fronts for about$45. Good luck....crazyL
