Progress on '66 Chevy K10 lwb fleetside truck
We have been working on a '66 Chevy K10 truck for the past two years and we finally got it back from the paint shop a few weeks ago and have been gathering up all the parts to start the assembly process. Attached are some pictures taken along the way with more to follow.

Looking good Tony! I love these years of 4x4s. Hard to find parts for sometimes, but they are worth it!

Re: Progress on '66 Chevy K10 lwb fleetside truck
I am in the process of constructing a website for my 4-5-6 Chevy Trucks, so you can follow progress on some of our builds, as well as, see the other 4-5-6 Chevy Trucks we have, along with the good, used parts we sell. Our photo host has numerous progress photos, under the set entitled '66 Chevy K10, showing the various stages of this build.
Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions about this 4-5-6 Chevy Truck project or one of yours, that we can help you with. Here is a link to this build: http://www.flickr.com/photos/4-5-6ch...7602954904562/ Last edited by LILRED66; 12-26-2008 at 02:36 PM. |

Looks like good quality work! You fellows sure like red! What is the interior color? I have asked a few paint stores and they could not come up with it.

Re: Progress on '66 Chevy K10 lwb fleetside truck
David & ryan19:
Thanks for the kind words fellows. I am partial to the red, because the '66 Chevy C10 lwb fleet I drove during college was red with a white cap, plus red is my favorite color. Works good in Kansas City, becaue of all the Chiefs fans. I have a black one, two blue ones, one maroon one and two other red ones. They would all be red, if I had my choice. The owner decided they wanted their '66 Chevy K10 lwb fleetside to look the same as one of my trucks, therefore, they chose a Red color, not sure the name, and White cap. The interior color is Medium Fawn. I don't recall the number, but we took a door panel into a auto paint store with the color-matching equipment, to match it. Re: Progress on '66 Chevy K10 lwb fleetside truck
Thanks to the owner for the inspiration to tackle such an undertaking for our first project. We will have it done, so the owner can pick up his son at school before summer break. Thanks for all your help and persistence. You are going to have a nice rig when we get it finished.
I hope the owner figures out a name soon, because it will be done before we know it. Last edited by LILRED66; 12-26-2008 at 02:38 PM. |

Re: Progress on '66 Chevy K10 lwb fleetside truck
Hey Tony, did you use a shop for the bead-blasting? I'd love to do that to my Suburban. If you don't mind me asking, what's the rough cost for the bead-blast? Thanks.

Re: Progress on '66 Chevy K10 lwb fleetside truck
greg64 I am the owner of this truck, I more than happy to let you know who did the media blasting, It was Eagle Auto Striping Located in Kansas City Kansas. It ran $1,400. I think a better way to go would be soda blasting, You don't have to take out any glass and it does not hurt the metal.
