Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?

My other big block truck running exhaust manifolds, 2.5 pipe and El Cheapo imitation Flowmasters. These mufflers are getting replaced by the real Flowmasters in the very near future once the EFI project is complete. I don't really like they way these sound. Same POS camera though.

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?

I'm running a 406 small block, victor jr aluminum heads, mechanical rollercam, jesel shaft rockers, bowtie intake/w Barry Grant carb, and a fogger.I use Hooker super comp headers with 3" mandrel bent tubes,an X pipe,Dynomax super turbo mufflers dumping over the rear. All ceramic coated.I built the exhaust myself. It's a little expensivebut works well and makes a lot of power.

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?

I had a local exhaust place that does the ceramic coating,do it for me.It's not cheap.I built the exhaust with mandrel bent kits from flowmaster.I have approx 1300.00 in the complete exhaust, but it is badasss! It sounds real stout, but is not real loud. This has to do with the motor also.Dynomax are my favorite mufflers, they seem to make good power.

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?

I've run several exhaust set ups on my truck ranging form the original (old'n rusty) flowmasters, to glasspacks w/ an h-pipe to some summit turbos. My favorite hands down were the 29"L 2.5" Cherry Bomb glass packs w/ no h-pipe. See my sig for my engine package... They sounded GREAT and LOUD until I blew one of them out and it sounded like crap after. I not really a fan of the blown out sound, it's just not as clean-

Well, now Im running the summit turbo's which are made by Thrush and they have a nice, classic sound. Not too loud, but you know Im sitting behind you at a red light. The chop is still there w/ the cam as well. This was not as evident w/ the old flow mstrs and pretty much went away altogether w/ the H-pipe. I actually have 2 exausts set up so that I can switch them out.

From my long hookers (not an inside joke) Im running 2.5" pipes back to the summits which sit under the rear of my cab and exit at 30 degree bends out in front of my rear tires (see pic).

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?

I have Hedman Elite headers, 2.5" pipes with Flowmaster Super 40's. Mine exit behind the rear tires. It's actually louder than I wanted, but it sounds real nice. it has a very deep rumble to it. I've had people ask if I have a big block and they were surprised to see a small block. I'll try to get a sound clip soon.

Re: What Kind Of Exhaust Are You Running?

I'm still partial to the 40 series Flowmasters. I got sooo many looks and comments in the Chevelle and will prolly go that route with the truck.

I sounds like a stock car. Like a circle track car. Loud and deep. No crackle and pop. Smooth and loud. It used to set off the neighbors car alarm everytime I go up the street LOL! I think its beacaue the expediton was scared lol. I had a police officer tell me that I need to get my exhaust fixed lol. no ticket luckly lol! Its mean and so nice!
