the law must be different in salina, ks.... i had many cops beind me while i was driving.. past a few cops going the same direction..been pulled over for speeding and nobody never said anything about my clear lenses
Quote:
ok i know there not illegal everywere and even if they are im not worried about it im looking for all 4 side markers in clear hopfully the one peice look not clear on top of clear anyone know were i can find those
Make no misstake, they are illegal in your states. Federal law Supersedes State law and this is definetly federal law. Just because you have been pulled over or ticketted for them does not make them legal. It just means that you haven't been pulled over for them or ticketted for them. I wasn't trying to discourage anyone from purchasing them, just letting you know whay we do not sell them. I personaly like them too, but I like my wallet more... WES

Re: clear tails 1972 c10

Yes Andy, I have always known myself. This is why we tried to run the disclaimer on our website that they were for show and off-road use only. However the Superior Court ruled that manufacturers and resalers could not control what was being done with them once the sale was made and that the disclaimer meant nothing. In otherwords we couldn't control the fact that people install them on their vehicles for highway use. I guess that big brother doesn't think that people should be responcible for their own actions. So we are ticketed and fined if we are caught selling them. Just isn't worth it to me. WES

Re: clear tails 1972 c10

I agree with your point of view on that. It's stupid. I guess you should push the blame to the people making them huh?
It sucks that you had to pull them off the shelf, but with the rulings, I don't blame you one bit.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Wes isnt saying you WILL get arrested for them, he is saying HE doesnt want to get fined for selling them. Liquor stores like to sell things too, but dont sell to minors mostly because they dont like to pay fines...

The problem with the lenses are they do not reflect back red when lit up with another vehicles lights. Red bulbs, or red LEDs do not make the lense reflect back red. That is a Federal law. Re: clear tails 1972 c10

I work for a body builder. We use clear lens red and amber LED lights, but we add separate reflector stickers on our units. Not nearly as pretty as just the lens, but we do it because we have space to. As with many things in life you can do what you want, but these are illegal because they have no reflectors. This issue will be pushed more as time goes on. Also, ask yourself what happens if there is an accident. A good lawyer may use this to make a rear end collision your fault instead of the one who hit you. Do they look good-yes. Is it worth the risk-no. Perhaps there will be some new technology come out where the reflux in the lens is possible. That would make a lot of people very happy. Bottom line, if it does not say DOT on the lens, it isn't legal.
