2 inch lift question
As most of you know there are constantly lift kits being offered on E-Bay for our trucks. My stock springs are OK but I would like to replace everything when I restore the truck. The people on the bay offer a 2 inch lift for reasonable money- my question is will this kit mess up the stock appearance etc. of the truck? I am going back stock, but this would get me springs cheaper than I could replace with stock ones. What about stock brake lines hoses steering? This 4x4 stuff is going o drive me crazy! Also how tall were the stock tires on the standard 6 lug 15 inch wheel. Thanks for your time, Harold

2" isn`t enough to need other changes.No need to change shocks,lengthen brake lines,etc.I`d say it`s an acceptible original-like change.I`ve had a couple with spring work that raised them right about 2".They just sit "healthy" and look great with factory size tires.Is yours a K/10 or K/20?

Depending on how de-arched your stock springs are, you may notice a little more net lift with 2" springs. I wouldn't worry about it through as the lift springs will settle too.
It should look just fine, plus at that size you shouldnt really need any steering corrections other than a draglink adjustment.

this is what i want to do to my K10 to, just a mild 2" all spring lift. mostly to make the sob ride better, someone put 1 ton springs in the rear at some point and it rides like a freakin lumber wagon. there like 10 leafs thick, and the front have 3 leafs i think there stock tho

This is a 2.5 inch lift all springs. Skyjacker soft rides. No mods were necessary to steering etc. I did put braided brake lines in place of the rubber ones. My old ones were pretty shot and I thought the braided looked kinda cool. I believe they were a little longer than stock, but it wasnt required. Course now they are all dirty and grungy, so much for cool...lol.
The wheels are 15x8 with 33in tires. |

I like the looks of yours CG. Thats about the look I'm going for.
I went with 2.5" skyjackers too, just because I needed to replace my old stock ones and it was the same money if not cheaper than stock replacements.

I also have 2.5" Skyjackers and my K20 sits just like CG's truck (with 33-12.50/16.5s on 9.75 wheels). My kit came with blocks for the rears but I didn't use them -- I have a single add-a-leaf in each rear spring pack.
Can't beat the quality of Skyjacker...

With new stock springs and cab bushings, you might see 2" at the fender...

I upgraded my k10 to 3/4 ton springs, 7/1 overload springs in the rear, and 3 leafs in the front. It lifted the rear 3.5", and the front 2.25" in the front. Yes it does ride like a lumber wagon, but I can put a ton in the rear, and it'll sit level. I didn't have to modify anything, just bolt in the new spring packs, with new u-bolts, and shackle bolts, do a quick toe-set, and I was driving down the roar
Mine is a 350, with the TH400, 1 piece driveshaft, to a 10 bolt rear-end Thanks Duro
