Agreed... Nice ride, but I'm not sure it's worth that much

Re: another $60,000 truck on Ebay
No one will probably pay that much for it, but if you paid someone to build it that nice it would probably get close to that amount. Just read his ad and start putting figures to the stuff he lists and then think about the miscellaneous stuff that are required.
$10K initial cost $10K for paint $10K for the motor and tranny (that's very conservative - the frontrunner bracket setup is $2K, fuel injection, $3K, machine work, tranny rebuild, fuel tank, ......) $10K for the complete chassis rebuild (air ride, notch, front end build, dics brakes, rear end rebuild, brake lines, fuel lines.....) $10K for the interior (gauges, wiring, stereo, glass, seat reupholstery, ac,........) $10K for miscellaneous (wheels/tires, nuts, bolts, exhaust, ............) Like I said, he probably won't get that kind of money for it, but if you break it down, it's easy to see how much you can tie up in one........

Re: another $60,000 truck on Ebay
I remember it from GoodGuys Ohio. It's an extremely nice truck & the builder/owner talked w/me for quite sometime about the little details that went into the build.
If the 'Habanera' truck brought in 55K, this one isn't too far off. It would be a killer ride for Power-Tour (just add some new shoes ).

Yeah, if I remember right... got that CT issue around here somewhere... he restamped the bed by hand. Wasn't there a link to the build-up somewhere in an old post about this truck?
Anyhoo.... at least he described the truck well and it doesn't look like it was written by a four year old

Re: another $60,000 truck on Ebay
The only problem that I see with that truck is......I would be afraid to take it out for a drive.

Re: another $60,000 truck on Ebay
He did his own metal work, so his out of pocket costs aren't $55k. But IMO if you paid to have all this work done to that level of quality, and bought all those parts, the price would be over $40k.

Re: another $60,000 truck on Ebay
I like the truck alot and have stared at the articles in the mags where it was featured. Not a fan of the wheels but that can be changed. It will probably get close to the amount listed I say and if you couldnt do the work yourself and had to farm it out i would be upwards of 100K like others have stated.
