MidWest Trucks - this is what I find in my area

Just to demonstrate how frustrating this hobby can be for somebody in the MidWest -

I found a guy locally who was selling a 72 short bed CST that needed to be restored for $2200 so I asked him for more details...

He sends me these pix...It is amazing what people think stuff is worth...

I have seen better trucks sell for less on Ebay...and in this area!

Now guys out West know why people out here in the East/MidWest buy trucks and ship them over to us - it is a LOT easier...

Anybody else in the MidWest got any stories about trucks they have looked at?

Only $2200 for that $500 truck and your not all over it!!! I hear you, somebody tries to sell a floor less truck up here and can't figure out why they can't get big $$$ for them, they always say you can buy patch panels....sure can, but there has to be something to weld them to!!

As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! What I like are the ads that say the vehicle is "ready to restore".

Sellers look at their vehicles and picture them as fully restored and therefore very valuable. Most don't understand the 2000 plus hours of time and the $7000 to ? cost of parts, materials, and specialized labor needed to fully restore a vehicle.

No idea - I was wondering the same thing...large can opener -

I guess you can sell stuff for whatever you want - just don't be surprised when it doesn't sell.

You can't see the Topless Roadster option already started? You are actually a step up on this area, it's not sunk in the ground up to the frame so you don't have the rollback cost that's normally associated with the "jewels" around here!

Re: MidWest Trucks - this is what I find in my area

My son had a 64 that rusted around the drip and he was going down the freeway and the wind got under it and rip the outer layer completly off. he drove it for a couple years like that.
