Transmission

What are the differences between the transmissions? I believe I have a TH700R4 - but I'm not sure. I know the shape of the pan & where the modulator is or isn't can tell you alot. What are the differences between the TH350, the TH400, and the TH700R4?

Thanks guys.

the th400 is stonger and made for big blocks.
the th350 is very common and in a lot of small blocks
the 700r4 is the overdrive tranny(4 speed)

Look below for tranny id. A 200r4 is like a 700r4 but has not as steep 1st gear like the 700r4.

if its original then it wil be 700r4 or th350, check to see if you have 12D or 123D on your indicator above the column in the dash
