turn signal switch assembly part number

I am rebuilding a van tilt column and found a post of a part numbers for a turn signal switch and turn signal switch assembly.

Turn signal switch harness assembly for the above switch - 1894851

First, is the harness assembly just the wires that attach to the switch?
Second, are these parts for a van tilt or a truck tilt(perhaps they are for both)? I phoned the Chevy dealership but their catalogues did not go back far enough.

Ive never seen one that looked like that. I don't think that is for a truck or a van... tilt or not.

That is not the right part. Call napa or son=meone like that. They have them for a non tilt. Then you can take the indicator light a screw it on the new one.

The picture is from the ECE site but looking a bit more closely, it could be for something earlier than 67-72. I will check with NAPA tomorrow. Thankis! I did get a PM from 70c10 letting me know that the part number in his thread are for a non-tilt column.

You can get the right one from napa for about 60 bucks.

Longhorn Man, is the switch for the van AND truck column the same part number? I did notice on ECE that the turn signal switch assembly for a 67-72 tilt is $39.

I am not 100% certian... but I don't see how they wouldn't be the same.
Call a parts store and ask for the p/n for a 72 truck tilt T/S switch, and then ask for the p/n for a 78 van T/S switch.

I called NAPA today and they said they have a rebuild kit. Has anyone used one before? If so does it have the springs included? (one of mine is missing)

If it is the DL6127, then it doesn't. And if they called it a rebuild kit, than that's a bit misleading. However it would replace the piece on yours that is craced, where the lever mounts.
You'll have to remove a contact plate off of yours, but it's fairly easy.
They should be able to get you the springs too.

I'm going to burn one of my newbe questions....
How do I tell if its a DL6127?
Also I was looking at the unit to figure out if it has the auto cancel feature.
I'm not sure if it has it. What should I be looking for? The cam in the picture (with the crack) appears to be an auto canceling unit, right?

DL6127 would be the NAPA p/n. If your beake lights and turn signals work correctly, then this piece is what you need to get your signal lever to quit flopping around ... it won't feel like it's bolted to a wet noodle anymore.
The auto canceling part is the springs, and the nub on the plastic cancel cam that the horn wire goes to under the steering wheel. The nub hits the spring and that bumps the switch into the off position.
