Front springs 72 Blazer for 8 in lift.

Can anyone tell me the differance in the front springs of a 72 blazer vs the front springs of the 73 and newer trucks? From what I can tell ie that the 72 springs are 2 1/2 inches wide at the center pin vs 3 inches wide at the bushings and seem to be an inch shorter. Can I run 73 and newer springs? I am wanting to put a 8 inch lift on and the kit is way cheaper for the 73 and newer than the 72 and older. Any info would be great.

Re: Front springs 72 Blazer for 8 in lift.

The 73-up front springs are longer. My K5 had a set of 4" 73-up springs on it when I bought it and the rear of the spring was almost touching the frame. I yanked them off and put the proper springs on. To make the 73-up work properly you wold need to move your spring hangers. Seems like probably easier to move the rear hanger back.
