No spark from distributor. Need Help!

I just got done installing a 350 with a blower, and a TH-400 into my 69 step side. The engine before just quit while going 60 mph, with no sputtering or signs of stalling. I was able to get it to crank but it would never fire up. The new engine ran before the install, and i have 12v going to the coil from the starter, and to the distributor from the coil, but no spark. I also tried to bypass and run a direct wire from the battery to the distributor, and still nothing. I heard that the inline fuses could be fried, but tested them and they had power. I'm at a dead end with no ideas on how to fix it and want to avoid the mechanics. Can anyone help?

It is possible to fry coils, so keep that in the equation.

It is a point distributor, and I never took the dist. Of the engine so I didn't think the points needed to be reset.

Take this opportunity and get an HEI system. You'll be glad you did. These things are virtually maintenance and hassle free.

Take the distributer cap off and have someone hit the key. make sure the shaft is turning and you didn't shear a key.
