Re: Pics for DANTIP

What kinds of parts are you running for your A/C setup?

Hoses?
Evaporator core?
Condenser?

I'm assuming its r134, but I know next to nothing about HVAC stuff, which is why I'm asking. I'm going to be doing my A/C in the future and want to retain the stock box and a near stock looking setup. Thanks.

Re: Pics for DANTIP

It is coverted to 134. I bought new evap from GM, the POA valve was from GM as well (they are difficult to get now- Gary terry is offering a system that updates and works better that original w/134 but does not look correct). The hoses are from Classic Muscle and are 134 compatable the condenser is were I dropped the ball a little it is a GM unit but I was told later that the newer aluminum units were more effient and provided a cooler air temp. The temp drops ok but not as cold as I would like- Everything in the AC system is new and works ok considering it is old technology. Contact Gary @ CS-M (cheyenne superman in abilene tx about his set ups I think that they are the way to go, I guess I will find out next go around as the 4x4 is getting the stock set up as well) If you have any other questions just let me know. Harold

Re: Pics for DANTIP

I was just curious. I'm putting in a Vortec 350 from a 99' Suburban. I'm planning on using the compressor, which shouldn't be an issue. I also have the entire A/C system from a 96' (I think) Chevy pickup. I've got the hoses, evaporator core, accumulator, the pressure switches, and the whole wiring harness from the truck. The evaporator core is very similar in size to the stock one, so I'm thinking that it will fit in the box on my truck. So, I'm thinking that maybe, I'll be able to install the whole system in my truck. Thanks for the info.
