my college visit finds! bunch of pics

last thrusday i had a college visit in minneapolis and my dad came with me and after the visit we took some back roads to my grandparents house and i snapped some shots with my phone of a few trucks we found on the way and one of my dads truck in its hibernation,

so here goes

first off, here is my dads in my grandpas shed still from when we moved to our new house it hasnt moved in 5 years but as soon as he is done with the shop we are rerestoring it!, its a 71 custom deluxe 4x4 with a good list of options but i cant remeber what al they are, all original restored in 1992

not exactly sure where we were but ive seen the place before and i stoped in this time causei was driving and looked at the 6 trucks siting out at the place, all were for sale and were prety reasonably priced, all are projects,
the yellow/ white 72 is the only non350 truck it has a 402bb and the intirior just needs to be finished for it to be done, they want 8500 for it

this green truck is a 69 i think its ot a 350 alot of work done already, no seat, and a full diomond plate bed, they want 2200 for it ( i so wish i could aford it)

this row of 4 trucks are all v8s and all under a grande but minnesota has not been very nice to any of them

Re: my college visit finds! bunch of pics

next stop was in the small town of swanville where my dad needed to stop and talk to someone about stuff for his farm and i spoted these 3 trucks not to far apart

the first is obvioulsy an old gmc tow truck that has had a very cancerous but long life if, i had money i whould have bought it, something about it makes me really like it

these 2 trucks were across the street from that tow truck and one house over deffinately someones projects but kool in a diferent way the flatbed is wicked!

this last truck i have known about for a couple years, its parked in an old salvage yard and has been for many years, but its not terribly rusty and the paint is still pretty deacent suprisingly, its a 70 with a 350

it's cool that you can take a short drive and see a dozen or more of these old trucks. i can't think of any other vehicle of this era still so common. to me that says somthing for these old trucks. i know of about 120 within 20 miles of my house

See now, that's interesting-the only one I saw that wasn't in the junkyard in my area was parked as I was leaving work-look like it was in fairly good shape too-didn't get a chance to look at it much, as I was going down a one-way street and would have had to cut off a semi to get in the lot where it was (Although in San Antonio, that's the driving norm apparently)

i wish there were places around here that, i could do that... 67-72's are rare around here...ive only seen 4 around here. There no others not even in scrap yards. i think the crusher got to them befor i did

it makes me jealous to see all these trucks just sitting, there screaming "TAKE ME HOME!"

Re: my college visit finds! bunch of pics

that one ofr 700 was by far the most affordable project itw was a 2x4 auto with a v8 probly a 350 it was alot better then the ones lined up next to it but it was worse then my 68 that i paid 50 bucks for and im not really a 69-70 grille fan
i know of so many 67-72 around where i live shame that most of them are rust bombs though

I think it's a sign that you need to go to college there.
