Weird vin, is my 72 really a 73?

I was trying to decode my vin on my 72 1 ton dually, the first digits are

CCE332J According to what im finding all the 72's had a 2 for the year digit, anyone have any info on this?

72's added an extra C at the front of the vins from what I remember. Kind of forget the first c and then match it up to the old number method and I think that will work.

I know of the extra C, it means the truck was built by Chevrolet, if it was a T it would have been a factory GMC

mr.beast, the first 3 in the vin code means it is a 1-ton. 2= 3/4ton. i grew up driving2 of them. a 68 dually and a69 single. they rattled my teeth back and all body parts in between. iwas sixteen in 69. Old Money.

Ok, I got my head screwed on straight and figured out what I did wrong there, I was just looking at the wrong digit.
