Saturday Night Hangout

I forgot to post these up and share. This happens every Saturday night at a local Safeway parking lot, there is a minimum of 600+ cars there on a slow night...

Enjoy the photos....

We do have it pretty good out here.....until summer comes. We are almost at a disadvantage, (I can hear the comments coming, lol) We only have the winter time to show off our junk OR work on it. I don't know about the others but we can't or don't do much in the summer time, building or cruising.
Maybe it's just me looking for the "lazy" factor......

No, it's not just you. I feel like hibernating when summer comes around. I only go outside during the day if I really have to. I find as many ways to stay in the A/C as possible, and wrenching on a truck in a garage when it's 118 outside just isn't as fun.....

Re: Saturday Night Hangout

I spent the first 6 months of last year down in Tucson basically, and I only found a few shows to go to- I looked hard too! I couldn't believe how few shows they have down there. I know Phoenix had a bit more, but sheesh! We have way more up here in the PacNW!

I lived there for years.
It ain't the "lazy" factor in the summer.
I always figgered it was more like, "I don't wanna fry my brains out" factor.

Oh, yeah; you are one talented dood.
What kind of equipment are you using?

Thanks L-J (to lazy to type El-Jay..) When people see or hear of my camera equipment they look at me like I'm dumb or they say, "What"?

I'm using an Olympus Evolt E-300 with quite a few different Zuiko-Pro lenses, it's not quite a pro-series, it's more of a really high end "fun" camera, just outside of the "point-n-shoot" series of camera's. My intentions were just that, use it for fun, I just love taking photos. The funny thing is, When I bought it I didn't tell the wifey, when I did tell her, she said, "what do you need that kind of camera for, are you going pro", and laughed at me! We were just talking about that the other day, at the time I was a broker for 14 years and have retired since, opened our PhotoG business and now shoot for quite a few publications and off-road companies, all I said was, "do you remember that day....."?

I can't tell you how dependable & awesome this camera has been! (knock on wood) it's has far exceeded my expectations in the field and has over 75K photos on it and is still going strong......

I am BTW looking into Canon & Nikon's pro series..... I can be VERY cheap sometimes....

So yeah, that's the short version....lol!

No, it's not the camera, although a nice camera is definately an asset. A great photograph will have the ability to draw you into the picture and let you feel that you are "there". You have an eye for composition and we appreciate your artwork....and it is artwork.

The second part of the equation is the subject matter, and that Metropolitan is INSANE! Of course, I'm partial to the rat rod at the top and GrapeNutz is clean.

I'm partial rat rods too, I have a '29 truck that is almost road worthy. My wife thinks the motor is dumb..... I'll spare the details but it's a BBC with a 671......!!

Re: Saturday Night Hangout

Wish that happened around here. Unless it is a sanctioned car show the Local PD shuts down the "hang outs".. Of course its the kids racing down the streets that has caused the police to act this way... Nice pics..I am by far no photo expert but in the whole car shots you might try to step back just a bit and get the whole car in the shot rather than cutting off the fenders. I still like the unique shots, like over the red cars tire and of the blue truck. Thanks for posting them.
