Need to cover old stick shift hole.
I switched from a stick to automatic. Now I have a big hole in the floor. Is there a small replacement panel for this? What should I do?

Re: Need to cover old stick shift hole.
you could weld it up or cut out a piece of sheetmetal alittle bigger then the hole. then screw it in over it and silicone it

Weld it. Leave the silicone to the plumbers.

Call a local body shop and see if they have an old hood laying around that you can cut up for patch panels.
I got one off a newer chevy truck, and its pretty thick metal. I've been making all my panels out of that. Plus the guy just gave it to me, he was happy to have it out of the way.

Re: Need to cover old stick shift hole.
If your truck is a high hump (the tranny hump bolts in) you could scan the parts board for a floor hump without holes. Other wise welding is you best option.

It looks like it will take some patience trying to make a patch panel match without the proper tools!

Re: Need to cover old stick shift hole.
Do you have carpet or a rubber mat that will be covering this area once you fix it?
If so, it doesn't have to be a concourse repair or even welded in. Just grab some cardboard and make a template that is about 1" bigger then this hole and got to a body shop and I bet you they would cut you out a piece from scrap. Drill a few holes around the overlap and screw or bolt it down and call it good. A little bead of silicone will seal it up just fine.
