short water pump alt brackets
Which alt brackets should I run for a short water pump with headers? There is about 100 different brackets out there. I thought I found my cure with a trick little number that mounts the alt right above the intake, between the pass. side valve cover and the water neck, but it was on back order, and after looking at pics of my engine, I don't think it would work with my old-school single plane Weiand intake, anyway. I'm not loking to spend a fortune on one of those fancy billet and heim joint equiped numbers, either. My truck doesn't have the stock brackets, either. It has a very 'unique' ranch-hand engineered masterpiece on it. My truck isn't here, so I can't check, but I'm pretty sure there is no mounting holes in the heads. By the way, no power steering or air.

Re: short water pump alt brackets
teeitup had some for sale. Used the two upper holes in the head and another longer brace... this was for the drivers side...

Re: short water pump alt brackets
I've talked to hm about those, but I'm not sure if they will work. Like I said, my heads have no holes.

Re: short water pump alt brackets
a 72 350 should have holes in the head.I had a 65 283 in my 61 chevy truck and I had water pump and alt brackets that came off a 307 that had been in a 69 camaro. the bottom bracket bolted to the pump but the 283 didnt have the hole for the long bolt to go in, so I left the spacer out behind the alt and used a short bolt with a nut ,worked fine as long as that motor was in there
