is this a '72 tow hook?
I pulled this off the custom front bumper on my '72 GMC K25. Just wondering if this is a '72 tow hook or not.
Thanks, Casey

Don't think so. Looks like an aftermarket one: http://www2.northerntool.com/product/20027.htm

I have always wondered this but why are the tow hooks so desireable?

Re: is this a '72 tow hook?
They are desireable because they are rare. If they came on every truck they would not be desireable. They are an option that was not checked and seems to have sold in some areas much better than others. In this end of NC, we used to get some snow, not like others, but never-the -less snow. In any case, I only know of one truck optioned with hooks originally locally and it is a 69 C20 2wd long step truck. The county I live in has quite a few 4x4 trucks (longs and shorts) and absolutely none of them have hooks. So like other things associated with this hobby, rare equal desireable to the right folks The 72 only hooks look to have peaked several months ago at $500 or so, why??? Rare and odd- they were shaped different for one year only= more money. They have since cooled off- saw a set on here couple of days ago that were being offered for $400 and shipping and there was not a lot of interest. IMO cool to have if you are going to use the truck or for show, but other than that, just one more thing to bang your leg against as you try to get to the fridge in the garage.
