MY trucks 71 K10 and 67 C30
Im new to the site, didnt have proper pics of my trucks to post. So here they are in all their unrestored glory.
71 K 10 long bed, 350, th350, 205, d44, 12b, 32x11.5x15 tires on whitre spoke wheels. Has original AC(I was told that it worked 2 years ago) and CST trim Ocher and white. Not much rust for a UTAH truck but it has alot of wear and tear. bought it from my boss who was going to restore it after he replaced or rebuilt the drive train it sat for 2 years until I bought it last year. I gave him $3500 witch was $1000 less than he had into it I have all the recepits for the work he had done. he claimed it has less than 5000miles on the new engine, trans, rebuilt x-case, and rebuilt axles. Next up is a freebie 67 C30 dually long chassis no engine or trans VERY rust free but also has some history in its sheet metal. Last edited by original_balzer; 05-27-2008 at 09:43 AM. |

Re: MY trucks 71 K10 and 67 C30
One more thing you may have seen my "rat rod style" thread where I said the 67 was rough enough and had cab light bumps that it wouldnt be a good builder for a nice restore on it. WELL it had been almost a year since I looked at it.
Truthfully I didnt look it over very well either, my neighbor said come get it out of his driveway if I wanted it and I did that as quicky as I could and hauled it out back. I didnt spend much time looking it over. Now that I have looked it over its not in bad shape and the cab lights where not factory.(side note I let my neighbor come get the cab lights off it because he wanted them as they where new) I just assumed they was factory with the humps in the cab. |

Re: MY trucks 71 K10 and 67 C30
Nice trucks to play with. How about that black 60 or 61?
The humps for cablights didn`t start until`69.In 67/68 the C/30s had those teardrop ones with chrome housing/no bumps.

Re: MY trucks 71 K10 and 67 C30
Thanx guys. The black 60 is actualy my cousins truck he loves that truck but has NO mechanical skills what so ever. He also live in salt lake city and has no place to park it. When he brought it to me he was going to move here and I was gunna help him fix it up. It had almost no brakes, the steering wheel was falling off, it ran crappy, and most of the lights didnt work. I have all that fixed exept for the tailights. The engine is a 325hp 327 from a SS car .
Its pretty damn quick for a heavy truck, once you get past the SLOW shifting manual trans. I lowered the fron by unscrewing the torsion bars, not the best way but my cousin wanted the front low. Its in pretty rough shape and FAR beyond my body skills. The 71 I bought with the intentions to restore but I would actually rather have a SWB stepside 4X4 to restore. So Im not sure what to do with it now. I would still love to restore it but its just not what I want. The 67 was going to get cut short and made into a 1 ton "rat rod" styled truck. But now after seeing how good of shape it realy is in I would like to swap it to a SWB 1/2t frame and a stepside bed and make it a little nicer that I first intended. Special k Yea it was my bad to assume it had the cab light humps I should have looked it over better. I didnt know they didnt start until 69 cool bit of knowlage for the future thanks. Jerry thank you I have lived here 29 of my 30 year life. I bought my house from my parents. There is 40 acers here and 3 homes. I love it here Im 20 minutes away from pine forests to the north or 20 minutes to desert south. and they call this area the land of 1000 lakes. If you love the outdoors its the perfect place to live. |

Re: MY trucks 71 K10 and 67 C30
Nice trucks. Hey, what's the one on the far left. Is that a 60? I can't place the dates on that body style. I'd like to get a '66 1/2 ton for a future project.
