The old rims were a little too 80's 4x4 for me, the stock look is much better for the theme of this truck I think

I like the steelies on it much better as well. Nothing changes the whole attitude of the truck like a significant drop. Nice work!

thanks for the compliments, pretty standard set-up from what I have seen here. RE7 bags, two ViAir 380's, 5 Gallon tank, SMC valves, and AVS switchbox.

Now a brief story behing the name "Hollywood". I was talking to a friend and we were joking about how naming vehicles is goofy. But if we did name it something farm related would be appropriate (this was a serious work truck, every body panel has a dent, faded paint etc). I mentioned a couple things and then said, or we could call it Hollywood as it would be so contradictory to its condition. The name stuck and after thinking about it it actually makes sense...here's my reasoning.

As most here would agree this model of truck is one of the best looking ever, kind of like a Hollywood actress in her prime. But, everything ages, and that age shows more and more over time...but the classic beauty never goes away.

Any pictures of the mounting of the tank, compressors, bags, etc? I am a few weeks away from doing this and am doing an almost identical setup. Just bought the dual380 setup yesterday. Getting RE7's, SMC valves, 5 gal tank, etc next week. Thanks for any pics and/or writeup of the work.

the tank is mounted at the very rear near the bumper, the compressors on the passenger side of the framerail also at the rear, with some brackets I made. The valves are on the inside of the framerail on both sides. The exhaust dumping in front of the tires made some things a little more difficult. Ill take some more pics and try to post them tomorrow.

I just got it off jackstands Fri night, no time yesterday, so started leak checking today. Found a leak at the driver front bag where the line connects to the push to connect fitting. Had to take the whole corner apart again and recut the plastic line...fixed it. I think I have several other very small leaks...that I cant detect with soapy water, so will have to do some more digging on those. I used teflon tape and am starting to think I should have used loctite...

the look stock wasnt bad at all, part of the reason for the project was to spend time with my dad.

I wanted to allow room for a rear mount gas tank later on but didnt have time to get everything where I wanted it, so that will have to come later.

This morning all bags were deflated, so I have leaks at all corners. I am really regretting not going with pipe dope on all connections. Will have to go back and tackle that at a later date as well

Love the title of the thread and the truck, looks nice, I have always wanted to put bags on the truck, but when static instead, I am happy but wonder if the grass is greener on the other side sometimes haha

Just curious how much does it cost to have the set up like you have

Well took it out for its first long ride after the bag install, about 50 miles or so. It did fine, pressure held and no major issues to speak of.-

Some thoughts from my install etc...

-Use pipe dope on all connections, teflon tape may work but not ideal after seeing the small leaks that I cant find...
-Cutting lower bag cups should be done after mocking everything up. I cut mine to 1 5/8" based on info found on the board and I have bag rub with too high a pressure in my opinion. Will probably fix this with modded stock lower control arms.
-50' of gauge line was not enough for me, ran out with one gauge left(barely enough bag line as well). On a LWB having the tank at the very rear means more wire, air line etc. If my exhaust was not running in front of the rear tires I would have mounted the air tank in front of the rear tire on the pass side, looks to be plenty of room.
-Drilling all the holes for bag mounting, compressor mounting and tank mounting was the most "difficult" physical part of the install. Everything else just took time but was not hard to do. I also did the install with the bed still on the truck, so it can be done, just a pain in the arse...
-I got most items from Suicide Doors, they were prompt and honest. The bags showed up before they said they would and they were honest about backordered items as well.

So thats my initial thoughts, at this point Im happy with the results but need to do a couple things to make it just right. With the front and rear at "ride height" the rear is much lower than the front, so modding some stock lower control arms should get me a better stance. I am running stock drum brakes on the front and dont plan on changing them, they function great with new shoes.

SO...with the bag rub I need to find some stock lower control arms to cut up, I ran into some late model (73+) arms today I could get for a reasonable price. Need more info on whats involved with the swap. From my research they look to share a lot of the same dimensions (shallower spring cup though), ball joints arent exactly the same but can work, and I have no idea on the spindles...any info greatly appreciated
