Re: my truck isnt starting

Do you have power to the switch? How about the rest of the circuit? Are the fusible links (near the batterY) still good? Probably need to do a little more trouble shooting and then help might come easier. Good luck!

Check the neutral safety switch under dash. I had this problem before.

Good Luck,

Re: my truck isnt starting

Fuseable link is blown at junction block near battery. (check red wire at alt. for power)

Re: my truck isnt starting

There will be a heavy red wire coming off battery + post(not battery cable) that goest to a small junction block on the fender bracket. The black wire off this block is the fuseable link. (check after this link for power-if no power replace link.)

On steering column under dash-purple wire in and out (if you have an automatic trans).

Re: my truck isnt starting

While you're chasing down the hot side of everything, also check the battery ground.

Make sure that both ends of both cables are clean, bright, and tight

This is just an illustration of how strange some of these electrical problems can be:
I had a problem on my Plymouth a couple years back that was bizarre, to say the least.
Like you, I no power to anything.
I spent over a week trying to chase down the problem with a VOM and a looooooooooooooooong jumper attached to the negative battery cable terminal.
I started at the positive battery terminal, then then the cable end.
I followed it step by step, through the fusible link to the solenoid. I also followed the battery cable to the solenoid. Everything was fine. I dug out the wiring diagram and chased the power to the bulkhead, then inside to the fuse block. Everything was good.
For whatever reason, I moved my jumper to the engine block. There, I nothing.
I wiggled the ground cable near the block terminal and power would come and go. It was breaking down between the cable and the terminal.
I replaced the ground cable and things were fine.

Sorry I ran so long, but this is just how elusive some of this electrical crap can be.

Re: my truck isnt starting

I had a Chrysler New Yorker years ago.It would start fine maybe for several weeks, then suddenly nothing.Sometimes a jump would start it sometimes not.I could not find a short anywhere.Battery cables were cleaned repeatedly.Installed new cable ends.It might not start for a month then just fire up perfectly when tried.
One day when trying to start it my buddy gave me a jump and nothing. He reached over and put the positive cable on the starter and it cranked right up.Turns out the copper in the cable had corroded completely in half inside the insulation.I replaced the cable and drove it for 2 more years without a problem.

Re: my truck isnt starting

Check the FAQ section - there are diagrams you can use to trace out the wires that are missing/unhooked/broken.... Perhaps someone can post a link if you can't find it.
While you are in there, I'd wrap that skinned pink wire in the second pic - that's just an arc away from a major headache.
