Re: Project "Rock-a-Billy".....Saga Continues.....

Yeap, I agree radials for sure.

I went with these because they were cheap, and it's the look I wanted to go with.

As with the 520-13 and 14's on lowriders , I've always like the squared of look of the tread.

Someday, I'll get some radial wide-whites.

But for now....she looks cool.

The wheels are the stocks off of a '69 C-10.....I'm sure they are similar to that of a '63, but I'm not positive.

Cool man...Nice truck...

Looks like your a first time poster...Welcome aboard !!!

I always wondered what it would look like with a red roof....Looks cool.

I think I'm gonna stick with a white roof...I might go with the white grill, though.

You said look at my 'old' truck...did you mean a truck that you don't have anymore, or the truck you got thats old ??

Re: Project "Rock-a-Billy".....Saga Continues.....

I sold that one last spring. The red stripe on the side and the top was heavy metal flake red. I just bought a 64 the other day to start on again. Cant decide on paint yet and I gotta slam it yet, get some whitewalls for it and put the motor and trans back in it.

Anyway, what do you guys think...should I paint my grill white ?? I am tired of looking at the all black front end. Bumper too, or just the grill ?? I think I might paint more of the roof white too....down to the bottom of the glass like they were stock.
Paint the grill white first then maybe the bumper. Just my 2 cents.

Cheif John,
Couple of months ago I was thinking about starting a truck project and had not decided on what year. as I was reading your thread one night as a guest, my youngest daughter saw some of your pictures and said that was the style and color of truck she wanted to help with. So we looked high and low and found a 1963 GMC Fleetside. Your thread had so much detailed info and on one of your post you said something about you shouldn't post alot of pictures. well for the folks who don't have the gift like you, I'm glad you and some of the others do post pictures if not I know I would be lost. so thanks for all the info and updates. Here's a picture my daughter took with her cell phone the day I rolled up with my truck.

Right on man....thanks for the kind words !!

Glad to see my build had inspired some of you.

Like I mentioned before, it has been a low-budget build (for now) and its seems to have gone the right direction.

If you have any questions, feel free !!

Good Luck man, and keep up posted on the progress....
