Got myself a serp belt setup off a 90 chev, it has an idler where the a/c comp should be in case i want to run a/c later on. I think I am going to spray it with this oxide removing stuff we have at wrk and get it nice and brite again and then clear coat them if it turns out good. If not I will paint it all black

95 SUBURBAN. Not cleaned at all. Bolt it on then go. Dont forget to use the newer fan for the reverse rotation pump.

Engine and serpentine from '98 Z-71. Since the pic was taken, I replaced the fan shroud with a big-block shroud. Fits like a glove.

Blue- Where did you get the upper radiator steel flexi-hose? Or is that just a cover?

It's a stainless steel one I ordered from Summit. The thermostat housing is of the swivel type with a rubber o-ring so that I could set it anyway I needed. The lower hose is also stainless (you can see it on the left).

I do have a concern about the length of the upper. It's a little on the long side for my taste. Not much more than the rubber that was on the truck the engine came off of. I'll warn you, the rubber ends are a very TIGHT fit. I don't know if Cool-flex would be any better or not, I do know cool-flex costs more, is seamless, and made of brass.

Thanks! I didn't even hink to look in Summit for stainless hose. I made the one I'm using. Yes, that is exhaust tubing in the middle.

Earl, take a look in my longhorn pics.......there is a shot of a 425 cad. if memory is with me, its a 78 sed devill top hose, & it fit the truck without splicing.... http://community.webshots.com/user/hotrodhorn crazyL

Thanks for the info. I really need to get a fan cowling in there. I'm afraid if I use that hose, the fan will just chew it up and spit it all over the place.

When I replaced my upper hose for the 350 in my 68 it was slightly to long and had the wrong angle which made a slight kink in it. I then looked at my Camaro and found out the top hose works exactly correct. Order a 78-81 top hose for a camaro with the 350. Wootdog

I have a question about the serpenten belt set up, can you use a SI-12 alternator or do you have to use another style of alternator from the same year and if so do you have to change the wiring to the newer style alternator, I have already changed over to a internal reg set up. And I think you have to get a long style water pump with revers flow.

I got the brakets all cleaned up and I cleaned them with acid. they now are nice and grey, I should have some fresh pics by weeks end. If I feel really ambitous maybe they will end up on the engine, if I want to pull it out of storage
